- An expatriate longs for the English spring
Form
- 2 verses, 8 and 12 lines
- Has a Romantic intensity and diction
- O, to be in England, etc
- “recapture / The first fine careless rapture!”
- First first rolls around, playing with iambic pentameter, tetrameter: always running around tetrameter, very coy
- Shows much flexibility: a very nice example of how Victorian poetry isn’t necessarily neo-Classical in a literal sense
